Fun Facts:

• In the spring, a doe gives birth to one, two or even three fawns. The mother keeps them hidden for a few days
• Newborn fawns have so little scent that even a dog cannot smell them. They also have the instinct to stay still for protection.
• A fawn can run with its mother when it is a week old. It is camouflaged by its spots until it gets a winter coat.
• Fawns play together, rearing up to box with their forelegs, buttin and chasing. They learn good lessons in herd life and safety.
