Brown Bat Puppet

The Bat arrived early from Jovial Toys (or Jovial Kids). I have the site and puppet company name at home. The local library had a mail box for letters to Santa. My 6 year old daughter dropped a letter asking Santa for a puppet. This library is loaded with hand puppets from the Folkmanis company. I thought they would be very expensive due to their construction and was ready to pay up to $[...] to get the Bat from this company. It cost under $[...] and was even better because it was new. Both of my kids favor "Batty Bat," so the choice as to which puppet was easy. They still check out "Batty Bat," and now he has a friend. Another really beautiful puppet is the Peacock. They have checked out these two as well as a Dolphin, Firefly (full size), Bobcat, 3 Groundhogs, Penguin, Hampster, Cat, Pug, and I'm sure others that I cannot remember. Our five year old loves bats and puppets, so this was a must have. I am a big fan of Folkmanis Puppets, and this is one of their best animals.

Some things you cannot tell by looking at the picture is that the bat is several different shades of brown, giving it a very realistic look. The ears are well placed, which we have noticed is not always so with stuffed bats. This bat has the classic "creepy" look, but it's cute enough to make you not want to vomit (I have had a hard time seeing any bat as "cute").

Another feature that I appreciate are the four hidden loops, so if you ever want to hang the bat from the ceiling, you can accomplish it by using heavy fishing wire through the loops.

The fur is soft enough to cuddle, but the structure of the wings has held up even though this bat has been subjected to lots of hugging, and night flights as he is tossed from the bed often! Therefore, the body remains soft and the wings spring back to shape...Read more

this is the 1st Bat Puppet I have purchased because it is the only one that I have ever seen,It is constructed very well and even though much larger then a brown Bat is almost weightless.If you know a little kid (or big one) who likes Bats,this is a Great gift !
