I loved Strawberry Shortcake dolls when I was a kid, and had many along with other things like a sleeping bag, stroller, bathing suit, etc. I am missing most of my originals, and having bought some vintage dolls online it really isn't the same. They've either lost their scent, are in damaged boxes, or show signs of age even if NIB. It's great to have brand new dolls again.

These look very similar to the originals. There are details that differ, but not very noticeable to casual collectors. (For example, which dolls had flat hands and which didn't). Raspberry Tart was always my favorite, so it is great to see her in the set. For some reason they chose to include the Party Pleaser Orange Blossom, and at first I was disappointed. But now I think this one is cuter than the original outfit. Strawberry looks just like I remember her, so cute in the original sweet version rather than the "hipper" version of modern years. Very cute set overall. The dolls smell just as I remember them, but the scent isn't as strong as I remember. I was disappointed to find that the dolls are bald under their hats, which wasn't the case with the original dolls. For some reason, I was really disappointed by this!

As mentioned in an earlier review, the pets aren't included which is another drawback. Still, I think it is worth the price if Strawberry Shortcake was a favorite from childhood.

Being a child of the 80's, I had to get these for my daughters especially because they love the new strawberry shortcake too. They smell just like I remember them. I saw in another review that they mentioned these dolls were bald under the hats? mine weren't bald. I know because my 2 year old pulled off all the hats after I told them to keep it on, haha. I really love these...I'm so happy I found them here. So happy that I ordered more than one.
