I just bought this puppet today, and he talked to us all the way home in the car! I've named him Aslan, after C.S. Lewis' lion. He doesn't look or act ferocious with me! He is wonderfully expressive and wonderfully wise.
He is VERY well made. He is the second puppet I have bought by this manufacturer, and I'm thrilled with that one, too. I'm glad I got to see such a good picture of him here on Amazon. I realized there was more to him than "ferocity." Aslan is a very special lion. This puppet is very special, too.

This is the only stage puppet I've gotten from Folkmanis but I got quite a few of their hand puppets. The quality is fine as I've come to expect and it is a good size with ample room for a man's hand. In fact, it might be too large for children and some women as it's difficult to move both mouth and arms. It seems to be an either/or proposition. My one disappointment is that the plastic teeth seem flattened/packed down and don't look as if they'll ever stand. Other than that a delight I expect to use for many years in children's ministry.

GREAT puppet! It's a great price for a really nice puppet. The only thing to watch out for is the Lion's mane- when pulled by little toddler hands the fur comes out pretty easily. We have to keep this toy out of our toy bin and only bring it out for supervised play, or my son would have all the fur pulled out in no time. (it also has hard eyes that can be a choking hazard)
